Talk:GF Divisor 51 415055

From Prime-Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

For GF divisors, I have been using the dates found on the new GFN factors page here: http://prothsearch.com/GFNfacs.html

For this one, do a find on "415055" on the above webpage and you'll see the year that the GF factor was found: 2006.

2014-09-11 is a common date where many updates were done at top-5000 to show GF divisors that the original searcher had found but did not know to post them at top-5000. That date appears to bare no relationship to the date of the find. You will see the same date for many GF divisors found on primes over a nearly 10-year span.

If you are going to change this one, there are many of mine that you would need to change. I began to ignore the date of 2014-09-11 on top-5000 after I realized what was happening. That is also why you mostly see only years in most of my entries. I now always use the Fermat factoring status and new GFN factors pages, not top-5000.

Maybe you know more about why this common date keep coming up at top-5000 for GF divisor finds. If so, please let me know. If not, I suggest changing it back to 2006.
